AIAS-HSI is an institute for interdisciplinary research and teaching in labour studies of the Law Faculty at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), the largest university in the Netherlands. AIAS-HSI conducts independent and innovative scientific research with clear societal relevance and impact and a strong international (comparative) orientation. The staff of AIAS-HSI comprises researchers with various disciplinary backgrounds, including law, sociology, economics and political science. AIAS-HSI has a long track record of high-quality national and international (comparative) studies in the field of labour. Its staff has written innumerable research reports and countless articles in peer-reviewed journals and has edited and contributed to many academic and professional books.
